This free workshop covers the practical “how to” of controlling invasive plants such as buckthorn and garlic mustard and how to restore your native woodland habitat for the benefit of wildlife, especially our diminishing pollinators.
· Invasive plant control strategies, options, and tools
· Identification of native plants versus non-native look-a-likes
· Successful reforestation with native plant species for your location
· Optional outdoor demo of hands-on cut-stump treatment of buckthorn
Cheryl Culbreth (creator of the Buckthorn BlasterTM) and Scott Reher of Landscape Restoration, Inc. will share what works/what doesn’t based on their professional expertise. Outback Nursery staff will be available to assist with native plant selection and landscape design services.
When: Saturday, October 28, 2017 – 9:00 to 11:00 (includes optional outdoor demonstration)
